Sound Temple | The Sound Temple | Sat 17 Aug 2024 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM | Sat 17 Aug 2024 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM | Vocal Improvisation | A mixed level dive into vocal improvisation. Dropping into presence, listening to self, other and the space between us - surrendering to what emerges. Giving voice to it, in the moment, together. There'll be roles for folks with more experience / courage in the moment, and safer ways to participate for those wanting to take it slower. It can be a scary, and thrilling, and super fun way of singing, that can reach deep places inside of us - to our Soul. |
Briony Greenhill is a teaching artist, “one of the world’s leading proponents of collaborative vocal improvisation (CVI)” - The Guardian. CVI is the art of co-creating vocal music in the moment. Briony's teaching has evolved from the lineage of Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon and others. Her students call her "a Master", her work "life changing." Briony's artistry and teaching are rooted in her Earth-Based Spirituality. She has released 4 entirely improvised albums, and her debut studio album Crossing the Ocean featured in The Guardian, Mojo, Radio 3 and 4. Briony is now performing a new body of work, Symbiocene Mama, about brining a child into this world at this time, and the depth of change needed.
