The Nest | The Nest | Sun 18 Aug 2024 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM | Simmy Singh's sound incorporates all the worlds she has entered throughout her time as a freelance violinist. She merges her classical upbringing with songs of these lands to create an experience that aims to capture the beauty that is within and around us, and to channel the sheer abundance and joy of this beautiful life. With a mixture of folk tunes, original works and improvisation, Simmy will also be joined on stage by some very special guests. |
Simmy Singh is Earth Activist violinist and composer from Wales, born to an English mother and Indian father, who’s mission is to merge the profound power of music to reconnect people to the beauty that is all around and within us. As an experienced freelance violinist, working with the likes of Abel Selaocoe, Bill Laurance, Alice Zawadksi, Portico Quartet, she has tapped into many different musical worlds - from her classical upbringing, to folk, jazz, electronic and West African - and she uses this palette to reimagine folk tunes and to channel original works that speak for the land.
